Dr. Boletta is a senior investigator at the San Raffaele Institute in Milan where she has been working on cilia and ciliopathies for the past two decades. She has been Director of the Division of Genetics and Cell Biology (2014–2019) at San Raffaele. She has made significant contributions to understanding PKD pathogenesis and the role of cilia, mitochondria and metabolism in PKD and other renal ciliopathies. She is an ERC Advanced Grant holder.
